What I’m reading (or rather listening to) — Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion

I’ve been walking a lot recently, primarily because of my Fitbit challenges but also because it gives me some time to clear my head. During my walks I’ve taken to listening to audio books thanks to Audible. I’ve decided to share what I’m reading/listening to so that you’ll hopefully find something useful.

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini

This book blew my mind. The principles outlined in this book can be seen everywhere and really helps you understand how the game of negotiation and compliance is played. After you read this you will be better at sales, negotiation and recognising compliance techniques. The narrator of the audible edition is very good and delivers it well keeping you engaged throughout the performance. However, I would strongly recommend also (or alternatively) getting the book either printed or on the kindle since you’ll want to keep it as a handy reference.

A great companion to this book is Cialdini’s Influence: Science and Practice which adds more details to the ideas listed in the original book.

I’m not going to go into too much detail of this book because I believe it should be read by everyone, no matter what you do.

Who’s it for:

Everyone
