With the passing of Stephen Hawking I have moved this up the list of posts since this is one of my favourite reads. I was never a big reader growing up, I read what was absolutely necessary for school and that was it. I had a good grounding in science with Chemistry being my favourite. When I went to university though my first year brought be back in touch with Physics and especially Quantum Theory a subject about which I took a great interest. My career and education though took me on a different journey and I abandoned the traditional sciences for Computer Science but my keen love of Physics has never ceased. A few years ago I started digging into Quantum Theory once again and read for the first time A Brief History Of Time: From Big Bang To Black Holes by Stephen Hawking.

A Brief History Of Time: From Big Bang To Black Holes by Stephen Hawking
This is one of those books I would recommend to anyone with even a basic interest in science. Hawking was not only a genius physicist but a brilliant story teller as well and the book was written for the non-scientist and explains concepts in simple understandable language making the subject matter more welcoming. This is by no means a trivial book, and does deliver some complex theories but the way things are explained is what makes this book shine.
I won’t say much about the contents, I leave it to you to have a read and open your mind to the beauty of the cosmos.
Who’s it for:
Anyone with an interest in the world!
