Introduction
Apart from building world-class products and technology solutions for our clients, our team has been working on our own website too. Think of it as a renovation—transforming it from a cozy bungalow into a full-blown skyscraper. We can’t wait to unveil it and maybe even reserve you a room in it!
One major part of this upgrade has been migrating our blog posts. While our company has been around since 2014, we’ve been publishing thought-provoking and insightful resources since 2013—exclusively on Medium (thanks, Medium!).
To ensure our content reflects its original timeline, we needed to update the publish dates on each post after moving them to WordPress. If you’re in the same boat and struggling to update your blog post dates, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you out.
Steps to Change the Publish Date of a Blog Post on WordPress
Step 1: Publish Your Post
First, publish your post on WordPress as usual. Don’t worry about setting the correct date just yet—just get it live.
Step 2: Edit the Post
Once published, navigate to the post’s edit panel. On the right side, just below the Featured Image section, you’ll see the date and time settings.
Step 3: Select the Correct Date
Click on the existing date, and a calendar view will pop up. From there, choose the original day, month, and year the article was first published. Once you’ve selected the right date, hit save.
Step 4: Confirm the Update
Now, view your post to ensure the changes reflect correctly. And that’s it—you’re all set!
Final Thoughts
Migrating content doesn’t have to mean losing its historical accuracy. With these simple steps, you can ensure your blog archive stays intact while enjoying the benefits of WordPress.
You’re welcome!
